OnMyWhey was designed to help make carrying your supplements on the go super easy and convenient. By now you know all you have to do is scoop your supplements directly into your OnMyWhey and then pour it directly into a water bottle, shaker bottle, cup etc. It really couldn’t get any easier! And, while the added convenience is one of our customer's favorite benefits, the environmental impact OnMyWhey has is also a huge perk and one that should not be overlooked.

Here’s how OnMyWhey is supporting the environment, and also your health.

Reduce Waste

Before OnMyWhey, so many of our customers were using plastic baggies to carry their protein powder with them to the gym. They would use multiple plastic baggies each week and then toss them as soon as they used the protein powder inside of the bag. As you can imagine, this led to a huge amount of waste.

Now while it may not seem like a huge deal, the truth is that using plastic baggies is actually pretty harmful to the environment, and here’s why.

In order to make these bags, it requires a ton of energy between the manufacturing process, the shipment of the baggies, and then the recycling. And, not only that, but plastic stays around for a very long time and is often littered or floating around in the ocean.

Plus, a huge percentage of the plastic used each year is never actually recycled, and it is estimated that the average American will use 540 plastic baggies each year! This number could be even higher if you use these bags for lunch and then pack your protein powder in them as well. As for the plastic bags that are recycled, they often just stick around landfills as they are hard to breakdown, so they can lead to backup problems and just cause a ton of hassle. The bottom line is that these baggies are not environmentally friendly, and are a huge source of waste.

To help avoid waste, OnMyWhey can be used over and over again and completely eliminates the need for these baggies. Not only is this so much better for the environment, but it’s better for your wallet as well!

Reduce Your Exposure to Harmful BPA

As more research is done on what goes into the process of making plastic and what we are actually exposing our bodies too, more information is coming out on the harmful effects of BPA which is commonly found in plastic. BPA stands for Bisphenol A and can lead to hormone disruption, reproductive, and even neurological issues.

The great thing about OnMyWhey is that you don’t have to worry about that! Our containers are totally BPA-free.

A New Year, A New You

If you are looking for ways to support the environment as we embark upon a new year, consider reducing the use of plastic baggies. Make just one swap by eliminating the need for plastic bags and using OnMyWhey to carry your protein powder with you. Plus, OnMyWhey can also be used to carry medications and even baby formula making it a multi-purpose container that can eliminate the need for the plastic baggies you would generally use to carry many of your on-the-go items in. By taking this step, you are supporting the environment by reducing your environmental footprint.
